GTAV trend

With the release of Grand Theft Auto V (GTAV), the franchise, which originally introduced open world game-play, gave players the ability and the power of choice achieving record worthy success. Basically, GTAV is an role-play mission game. It currently holds seven world records, one of which is the fastest entertainment property to ever reach one billion dollars. And yes, GTAV made over one billion dollars in less than three days. They had a budget of $250 million to develop and market the game. Even most Hollywood movies couldn’t achieve what GTAV did.

Part of Grand Theft Auto V's magic is discovery. Players also enjoy the thrilling and unpredictable story it takes you on. The world is breathtakingly beautiful, the script is hilarious at times, the music is amazing (both the licensed tracks of real artist and the atmospheric original score), but most importantly, the game is really fun to play. It's also a sharp reflection of the worst of contemporary pop culture, and insanely detailed too. The world feels alive. The missions range from car chases to elaborate James Bond-style stunts. Even the city Los Santos, where players get to spend most of their time in, is the most dense, intricate GTA city yet, and it’s only a quarter of the map.

In the wake of GTAV’s great success and the attention to detail of the game itself, one simply wonders about what’s in store for the future of the entertainment industry. Hard work will always pay off. This game has indeed encouraged many game developers to take their time and not rush to finish a game, in order to create an immersive game to give players the great experience. Hollywood has also learned a few tricks about how successful marketing campaigns pay off. In the end, just grab a copy, sit back and enjoy GTAV.

  1. Grand Theft Auto is a gold standard in the video game entertainment industry. The credit belongs to the game’s developers, Rockstar Games, for the passion they put into all of their projects. Attention to the small details is worth playing the game alone. For example, when it rains characters run for cover. Also, the Rockstar team is never fully satisfied with their games, and they always try to raise the stakes, push the envelope, and make improvement despite their games getting perfect review scores.

Most developers are pressured to create sequels annually to their successful games even if it means the new game lacks new ideas or innovation. In contrast, Rockstar Games set their own release schedule and control every aspect that goes into their games.

Companies should allow developers to create the best possible game, even if it will take two or three years to release the game. This also helps the franchise from product fatigue. I am tired of seeing a new Assassin’s Creed game every year or the latest Call of Duty game that feature a lot of reused content from their old games with minimal new features.
